Win 600 for Larry Edgar celebrated

SCRABBLE CLUB

The Leisure World Scrabble Club met on the first three Wednesdays in November. One week before, on Oct. 30, the club celebrated the 600th win of president Larry Edgar with a luncheon.

The members combined for 59 scores above 300, including 12 higher than 400. There were 29 bingos (i.e. the use of all seven tiles in one move).

Edgar had 15 scores above 300, the best of which was a 402. He had three bingos. Suthy Chhoeuy led with 14 bingos. She had six scores higher than 400 and two others above 300. Her top score was a 468.

Bob Ruderman and Diane Seeger each topped 300 nine times. Ruderman had a best score of 439 and two others above 400. He had eight bingos. Seeger’s best total was a 400. She had one bingo.

Jim Schneiderman and Sylvia Makus each had four scores above 300. Schneiderman had three bingos and a high score of 415. Makus’ best game was a 356.

Marilyn Moody topped 300 three times, with a best score of 334. Wanda Bemben, Sue Ann Gass, Maria Giegerich each had two scores above 300. Their respective best totals were 355, 315, and 306. Myrna Loscuadro posted a score of 321.

The club meets each Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 5. New members are welcome.
