LW Baptist Church
LW Baptist church meets for worship on Sundays in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m.
On Sunday, May 24, LW Baptist Church’s message focuses on redemption’s meaning. The Hebrew scriptures called for people in Israel to remember their bondage as slaves in Egypt and how God redeemed them through the blood of the Passover lamb, instructing them how to live in freedom as God’s children.
The New Testament calls Jesus the Passover lamb, and Jesus refers to himself in this way: “the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life a ransom for many.” Redemption’s meaning now becomes clear. As the Bible says, “the Father rescued believers from the dominion of darkness, and brought them into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom they have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” This is why the Bible pictures the believers of all time in heaven singing to Jesus “a new song”: “You are worthy...because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.”
