Vehicles collide on Westminster Boulevard near U.S. Post Offi ce

On May 5, at approximately 7:58 a.m., Seal Beach police offers responded to a traffic collision on Westminster Boulevard near Seal Beach Boulevard, in front of the U.S. Post Office. According to a preliminary investigation by Seal Beach police, an elderly driver in a Toyota sedan turned left in front of an oncoming Tesla, resulting in a collision.

The elderly driver, approximately 75 years old, was transported to the hospital as a precaution with complaints of pain. The other driver, approximately 35 years old, was not injured; neither was a Seal Beach resident, according to police.

In a similar incident on Feb. 21, a motorcyclist was transported to the hospital after a vehicle making a similar left-hand turn into the post office parking lot collided with the oncoming motorcyclist. Drivers should use extreme caution and be aware of oncoming traffic when making turns, especially on roadways where vehicles travel at high speeds.

A crash occurred on the morning of May 5 when a vehicle traveling eastbound attempted a left-hand turn on Westminster Boulevard into the U.S. Post Offi ce.
