Garden Club: Rancho Los Alamitos Tour on Oct. 29

On Thursday, Oct. 29, 38 Garden Club members will tour Rancho Los Alamitos with a knowledgeable docent. The tour is cost is $35 and the group will leave at 9:30 a.m. The rancho has been part of the community since 1804 and has a rich history. After the tour, the group will visit Bixby Village Plaza where people can choose from ten casual restaurants to enjoy lunch for 1.5 hours.

The club will hold its monthly meeting on Oct. 19 in Clubhouse 2 at 1:30 p.m. Guest speaker Renee Thrap will demonstrate how to create a succulent garden on a pumpkin that can be enjoyed for months. One lucky winner will take the pumpkin home.

This year, the plant table will be set up from 12:30-1:30 p.m. with succulent arrangements for $3-$20.

All meetings feature a raffle, door prizes and light refreshments after the meeting.
