The Garden Club met June 15 to celebrate another successful year at its annual spring luncheon. Members and guests enjoyed a festive afternoon with a delicious luncheon catered by Avila’s Restaurant, and being with new and established friends. Many entered a costume contest, and most tried to win one of dozens of donated gift baskets.

The lunch highlighted the club’s ongoing charitable initiatives and celebrated the year’s activities. The Garden Club was founded in 1964 and focuses on making donations to various local charities.

The club meets on the third Monday of each month from September to June in Clubhouse 2.

There is a plant sale before the meeting that offers beautiful potted plants at a substantial discount. During the meeting, there are guest speakers, and refreshments are served afterward. The club also offers group tours to places of interest such as the Academy of Motion Pictures and area botanical gardens. For more information, contact Tonya Klemm at 714-325-1395.
