Art League: Call For Submissions

The Leisure World Art League has formally announced a “Call for Entries” for the June 20 Art in Bloom Art Exhibition. The annual, juried art show features creations from Leisure World artists in all mediums. The show will be held in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby from 4-7 p.m.

Applications are now available from the Recreation Office in Building 5, or by request via email to lwsb.artleague@gmail.com. A maximum of three art pieces per category can be submitted, with one category submitted per application. Digital images of artwork must be included with the application. The exhibitor’s fee is $30 per category. The last day to submit applications is May 15. The event is sponsored by the Golden Age Foundation and Gasper Monteer Realty Group.

The Art League will meet Tuesday, April 14, at 6 p.m. in Clubhouse 4, for a presentation by Jeff Rovner, a photographer specializing in shadow-infused conceptual art. His pieces reveal order, beauty and meaning in a chaotic world.

Residents who want to join the Art League and display their work at the meeting should arrive by 5:30 p.m. to register and submit their artwork for display. Pieces from all art categories are welcome. The work voted “Most Popular” by attendees will be honored with a winner’s ribbon.
