Annual bash is Friday, Jan. 23

CREATIVE WRITERS CLUB

It has been the tradition of the Creative Writers Club to take advantage of the relative calm following the holiday rush and have its annual party in the quiet month of January instead. This eagerly anticipated social gathering will be held Friday, Jan. 23, at 1 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1.

The club will provide a catered lunch with various menu options. Water and soda will be available. Members’ writing will be read after the meal.

Club officers are President Debbie Barner, Vice President Sherry Thomas, Secretary Dave Crandall and Sunshine Chair Sue Ann Gass.

The club meets January-October on the fourth Fridays. November’s date can vary because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Anyone interested in writing is encouraged to join this friendly inclusive group and share their love of written expression.

At the November meeting, the club welcomed one new member, Christy Clark, who excited the members by sharing a chapter of her autobiographical novella which is a work in progress. Coincidentally, two other members wrote on similar themes about their childhood challenges.
