Wa-Rite celebrates impressive weight loss despite the holidays
Wa-Rite is a female-only club that meets on Friday mornings from 9-10 in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. There will be no meeting Nov. 28. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. Women who want support on their weightloss journey and to meet like-minded people are welcome to stop by no later than 8:45 to weigh in and complete the registration paperwork.
Last week, members learned that the club lost a total of 20.5 pounds. Julie Cisneros was named the biggest loser with a 2.5-pound loss. Cisneros attributes her weight loss to taking more time to chew her food and not eating everything on her plate.
Friday, Nov. 21 was the club’s share day, and many members said they are thankful for living in Leisure World and looking forward to staying on track with their weight loss goals during the holidays. Camaraderie, support, inspiration and friendship were also among the things people were grateful for. Members also expressed their profound appreciation for the club’s president Judy Chambers, and her positive attitude, warmth, and intelligence, sense of humor, and great leadership.
The weekly food for thought was: “The more you practice the act of thankfulness, the more you have to be thankful for.”
