LW Men’s Golf Club now collecting dues for 2026
It is time for members and those who wish to join the LW Men’s Golf Club to pay dues of $15 for the upcoming 2026 season. Dave LaCascia will be available to collect dues at tournaments and at the club’s next general meeting on Jan 7. Players must be a men’s club member to participate in payouts. A cloudy and typically wet morning greeted 45 players at 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 12 at the Turtle Lake Golf Course. There was competition for best net score, four circle holes (shots within a 5-foot radius rewarded), and two closest to the pin challenges.
Twenty of the 45 men scored net at or under par. There were 60 birdies with Bill Lyons posting a remarkable 10 birdies, and John Kolthoff carding seven. Closest to the pin on hole No. 8 was Fujio Norihiro at 8 feet 4 inches and on No. 17 it was Won Park at 3 feet 3 inches. Average gross score for the round was 59.2 or 5.2 strokes over par. Average net score for the round was 54.5 or half a stroke over par.
Low gross score for the round was Bill Lyons at 10 under 44, John Kolthoff at 6 under 48, and Jae Choi at 4 under 50. Lyons and Ben Benjamins shared low net score of the round at 10 under 44, followed by Rod Osgood and Darry Holten at 7 under 47, and a number of golfers at 6 under 48.
A flight winners (handicaps of 0-6): Lyons, first place; Kolthoff, second; Jae Choi, third; Mike Mayfield, fourth; Thomas Kim, fifth; Young Lee, sixth; Fujio Norihiro, seventh.
B flight winners (handicaps of 7-11): Hyon Shin, first place; Rolando Ramirez, second; Tom Ebert and John Rudosky, third; Ron Jackson and Trai Nguyen, fourth; Ron Steele, fifth.
C flight winners (handicaps of 12-18): Benjamins, first place; Osgood and Holten, second; Won G. Park, third; Noe Alcaraz, fourth; Steve Kang, fifth.
