Genealogy Club

There will be no general membership meeting in July or August. Club meetings will resume in September.

The Genealogy Library will be open at its usual hours for members to utilize for their research: Monday through Friday from 1-4 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; closed Sunday. It is located near the Clubhouse 3 lobby and features computers for genealogical research.

People interested in volunteering for the Genealogy Library or signing up to be a substitute should contact the club’s volunteer coordinator, at 714-390-4213 or email lisnhow@ gmail. com. Volunteer hours are a great opportunity for people to work on their own genealogical studies.

The club holds Theme Thursdays from 1:30-2 p.m. in the Genealogy Library.

The topic for July 17 will feature class participation and involve looking back at one’s early ancestors who migrated from east to west. Members will look at how their ancestors traveled and what route they took. People are invited to share what they know, and the group will look at the options they had.

The topic for July 24 is “What was life like for your pioneer grandmothers?” The July 31 subject is “Chew and Chat.”

People who are interested in hearing about a particular subject are encouraged to reach out the Genealogy Club. The club welcomes contributions from people who are interested in leading a group conversation or giving a short presentation.
