CERT An emergency can happen at any time and all residents need to be prepared. Leisure World has in place a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program to train volunteers in the community in disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact the area and in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.

SUNSHINE CLUB Los Alamitos Medical Center neurologist Dr. Nirav Patel will speak at the Sunshine Club’s meeting on Friday, July 29, at 10 a.m., in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. Patel will cover causes, symptoms and treatments for stroke. Patel is board-certified and is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. He is the medical director of the stroke program at
