Yahtzee Club will play Aug. 21 in Clubhouse 3


The Yahtzee Club will meet Aug. 21 in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby at 2 p.m. There will be a halftime social to interact with neighbors. The club meets the first, third and fifth Fridays of each month. July 31 winners: Mary Newport, most Yahtzees; Diane Seeger, high score; Louise Hinkle, high game; Kathryn Ewell, low game; Trish Moyer, door prize. LW MEN'S GOLF CLUB The men’s club regular general meeting scheduled for Sept. 2 has been cancelled due to expected construction in Clubhouse 3. The next general meeting will be held on Nov. 4. A shotgun scramble golf tournament is being planned for Sept. 30. There is a $10 entry fee. Sign-ups will be available at all men’s and women’s tournaments beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8. After

Annual picnic wraps up summer


SHUFFLEBOARD CLUB The Shuffleboard Club held its annual membership picnic on Aug. 8. Master chef Minda Burkschab barbequed a tri-tip worthy of a Michelin star. Club members provided a fabulous selection of salads and desserts. Jack O’Brien’s 96th birthday was celebrated with a very large cake and a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday.” The game of corn hole was enjoyed by many.

The LW Chess Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 7, from 1-4:30 p.m. Beginners lessons are available. Keep Alzheimer’s and dementia at bay by practicing this strategy game, proven to improve short and long-term memory and critical thinking skills.
