Annual picnic wraps up summer
SHUFFLEBOARD CLUB
The Shuffleboard Club held its annual membership picnic on Aug. 8. Master chef Minda Burkschab barbequed a tri-tip worthy of a Michelin star. Club members provided a fabulous selection of salads and desserts.
Jack O’Brien’s 96th birthday was celebrated with a very large cake and a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday.” The game of corn hole was enjoyed by many.
Ellie West was recognized for her many years of service as a club member and board member. She is retiring from the board but will continue as a member.
The club thanked and said goodbye to Bob and Barbara Ponegalek for their many years of service to the club. They will be moving out of Leisure World at the end of the month. They will be missed, but the club wishes them well. Everyone had a great time reconnecting with each other and look forward to the start of the new season in September.
