The LW Mens Golf Club’s second tournament of the month was held April 22 at the Turtle Lake Golf Course, with 45 golfers teeing off at 7:30 a.m. It was a sunny morning at the start of play. With warmer temps and some wind predicted, the second flight of players encountered gusty conditions. Each man competed for best net scores, four circle holes, and two closest to the pin challenges. YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN Leaders, problem-solvers, creative thinkers and service-minded residents needed for exercise The Boots On The Ground’s first practice session of the year will be held May 7 from 10 a.m.-noon in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. Volunteers are invited to participate in a tabletop exercise that will prepare them to respond quickly and efficiently to a variety of potential disasters.

Work has begun on a new unisex, ADA-compliant restroom in Clubhouse 4. Construction is expected to conclude by the end of May. The project involves building a standalone restroom near the clubhouse’s kitchen area which will not affect access to the building’s existing men’s and women’s restrooms. SAND BERM REMOVAL The removal of Seal Beach's winter sand berm is underway. The sand berm serves as a protective barrier to control fl ooding from high tides and storm surges. Berms also help prevent coastal erosion. Paul Kryczko

PARKING IMPACT ON MAIN STREET Seal Beach’s annual classic car show is this Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The event, organized by the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce, brings over 600 classic cars to Main Street.
