The LW Mens Golf Club’s second tournament of the month was held April 22 at the Turtle Lake Golf Course, with 45 golfers teeing off at 7:30 a.m. It was a sunny morning at the start of play. With warmer temps and some wind predicted, the second flight of players encountered gusty conditions.

Each man competed for best net scores, four circle holes, and two closest to the pin challenges. Twentythree of the 45 men scored net at or under par.

There were 50 birdies and 11 circle holes.

Closest to the pin on hole No.

7 was Jae Choi and on No. 16, it was Scott Tuchfarber. Average net score for the round was 54.88 or nearly 1 stroke over par. Low net score for the round was Won G. Park at 7 under 47, Noe Alcaraz at 6 under 48, and then a host of players at 5 under 49. Low gross was Kevin Childress at 3 under 51.

Net score equals gross minus handicap.

A flight winners (handicaps of 0-5): Choi, first place; Alan Sewell, Childress and Bob Barnum, second; Bob Johnstone, Kim, third; John Kolthoff and Seon Kim, fourth.

B flight winners (handicaps of 6-12): Gene Archambault, first place; Dave LaCascia and Steve Walker, second; Bud Young, third; Dennis McMonigle, Richard Yokomi and Steve Kang, fourth.

C flight winners (handicaps of 13-18): Won G. Park, first place; Alcaraz, second; Todd Chidester, third; Scott Tuchfarber and Bruce Bowles, fourth; Rod Osgood, Paul Shellenberger, Dennis Jensen and Joel Kellum, fifth.

The next men’s tournament is on May 13.
