••• Give Where You Live: Legacy Contributions All GAF programs are provided free to Leisure World shareholders. The GAF is entirely staffed by volunteers, so all contributions go directly to meeting community needs. The generous support of shareholders, residents, the clubs, organizations and businesses are the main source of income.
Previous legacy contributions from generous shareholders have funded many projects that benefit our entire community, including major improvements to the exercise center and a mobility-impaired bus.
For example, bequests from Mutual 1 resident Marilyn Schatz, Mutual 4 resident Joy Kramer, and Mutual 17 resident Venus Veach made it possible to bring licensed social workers to provide in-depth help for the shareholders. GAF brought three agencies, Council on Aging, Alzheimer’s OC, and Adult Protection Agency, and Pathways to form a collaboration team in the spring of 2022.
Residents are asked to consider including the Golden Age Foundation when planning a will or an estate. Those who are interested in a legacy contribution should first consult with an estate planning professional The Golden Age Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable organization (tax ID # 23-7273105), its address is P. O. Box 2369, Seal Beach, CA 90740.
