First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

The trials of this world can leave people weary and burdened. Yet in Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus offers a gracious invitation: “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Followers of Christ throughout the ages have found these words to be true. They reveal both the heart of Jesus’ ministry and the purpose of his coming: to draw the weary to himself and give rest to their souls.

Gentle and humble in heart, Christ calls all who are burdened to come, learn from him, and trust his promise of rest.
