Wa-Rite members earn rewards for reaching their weight loss goals
Wa-Rite is a female-only club that meets on Fridays from 9-10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. For support on a weight-loss j ourney, women are welcome to stop by at 8:15 to weigh in and complete the registration paperwork.
On Oct. 9, the club lost 10 pounds for the week. Henrietta Peavy and Kathleen Hessley were the biggest losers with a 1,5-pound loss each. Peavy said that following intermittent fasting and drinking hot lemon water with Himalayan salt atnighthelpedher lose weight. She also reached her short-term goal and earned $10. Hessley’s weight loss philosophy is eating healthy and taking off the weight slowly.
President Judy Chambers spoke about the importance ofvitamins and minerals for weight loss, including chromium, zinc, magnesium, potassium, calcium and iron. They can be found in foods such as eggs, fish, liver, lean poultry, green leafy vegetables, beans, nuts, whole grains, yogurt, bananas and even ice cream.
The weekly food for thought was: “I celebrate progress no matter how small. One half pound a week is 25 pounds a year.”
