Scrabble Club plays Wednesdays

The Leisure World Scrabble Club meets on Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 5. New members are welcome.

The club met on Sept. 23 and on the first two Wednesdays in October. There were 22 bingos (i.e. the use of all seven tiles in one move) and an equal number of scores above 300. While these scores are substantial, prospective members should know that there are others that are lower.

Diane Seeger led with eight bingos and six scores above 300. Her totals ranged from 349-415. Larry Edgar topped 300 six times also, with two bingos and a range from 325-400. Jim Schneiderman had five bingos and four scores higher than 300. Also, he had a 278 in a three-way game, equivalent to a 417 in a two-way game. His range was from 335-394. Sylvia Makus exceeded 300 three times, with one bingo and range from 302-339.

Suthy Edgar had four bingos and two scores higher than 300. Her range was from 363-424. Dave Crandall had two bingos. Kay Pushman had a score of 324.
