The Friends of the Library Bookstore and Boutique is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; Saturday from 9:30 a.m.12:30 p.m.; closed Sunday and Tuesday.

The “Special Collections” cart is currently holding a mix of great and diverse bargains.

To learn more about the many facets of Los Angeles history and culture, check the selections available.

For creative handcrafters, there are knitting books to use with the yarn and needles available and priced right in the boutique area.

Also included in Special Collections are small books on a variety of subjects that often get overlooked in the regular book shelves. All will be available to sell at marked prices on the black cart in the patio.

In honor of Veterans Day, the bookstore will hold a November sale on its large collection of military and war books.

Books make great gifts for that soon-to-begin-gift-giving season. Shop early for the best selections.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to give back to the community in an enjoyable way. Most shifts are three hours long once a week and people can sign up for as many or as few shifts as they like.

For more information on volunteering, visit the Friends of the Library bookstore, located directly across from the LW Library.
