Many thanks to the Leisure World community for giving generously at the donation event held for the Seal Beach Animal Care Center (SBACC) on Aug. 27 before the Amphitheater show.
More than $1,600 was raised toward the care of the dogs, cats and kittens at the SBACC, as well as about $400 in donated items, including food and bedding.
We also thank the Leisure World Lions Club, whose volunteers helped with the fundraising effort.
As SBACC celebrates 40 years of rescuing cats, kittens and dogs, we thank our neighbors in Leisure World for being our partner. Together we are making a difference!
Paula Shawa and the SBACC Board of Directors Editor’s Note: The Seal Beach Animal Care Center was founded in 1986 by a group of concerned citizens who wanted a local no-kill shelter for dogs and cats. The only animal rescue in Seal Beach, it is located next to the Seal Beach Police Station at 1700 Adolfo Lopez Drive. It is operated by over 100 volunteers and 20 staff, and has saved over 20,000 animals in the past 38 years. It is a California nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation. Donations are tax deductible, with the largest share directly benefitting animal care.
