Discussion will be on the afterlife

HUMANIST ASSOCIATION

The LW Humanist Association will meet Sunday, Aug. 2, in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, starting at 10:30 a.m. with Dave Silva as the featured speaker. Silva will deliver a presentation titled “Heaven, and other Afterlives.” He will cover what various religions believe happens when people die. The most common belief being the soul goes to some version of paradise or punishment. Some religions believe souls experience a series of reincarnations. Many people believe that death is simply the end of consciousness. The group will examine the arguments for and against afterlives. Humanists believe the afterlife is a topic of common interest that should be open to discussion.
