Join the Democratic Party of Orange County (DPOC) for the Huntington Beach Fourth of July parade. “If you’ve ever wanted to be in a parade or help in planning and design, this is your chance.” People can march in the parade or help behind the scenes by contacting Pat Goodman at 714-847-6617 or patgoodman@gmail.com.
Jeffery Cardenas from the DPOC spoke at the club’s latest meeting on June 24. He spoke to the club about DPOC, its mission and what it does in the community. The club’s membership meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. People are welcome to bring a lunch and come early to socialize with other members.
The next membership meeting will be held on July 22, with California State Assembly candidate Chris Kluwe as the featured speaker. Kluwe advanced through the June 2 primary election and will face Republican Gracey Van Der Mark in the Nov. 3 general election. He will share his vision for the 72nd District and his strategy for winning in November.
The Hospitality Booth is now open the first Tuesday and the third Thursday of the month outside Clubhouse 6 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
At the booth, people can to register to vote, update their address, or change their party affiliation with the help of the club’s friendly volunteers. The booth also offers campaign literature, lively discussions on current events, and a welcoming environment for people to share thoughts with like-minded neighbors. People are welcome to join the “Lunch Bunch” group at Hof ’s Hut off Seal Beach Boulevard at 11:30 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. It’s a chance to enjoy a good meal, great conversation, and the company of like-minded friends and neighbors. The next lunch will be Wednesday, July 1. The next voter education session will be held July 8, at 10:30 a.m., in Clubhouse 3, Room 3. For more information, email beverleybender@ gmail. com. Voter Education Sessions are held on the second Wednesday of each month.
