First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

This weekend, Pastor Chris “Shorty” Cherryholmes will be speaking, returning to the book of James 3:13-18. In these verses, James expresses the chaos that comes into a person’s life with a heart set on bitter jealousy and selfish ambition.

The source of that kind of thinking is revealed, and James ends the chapter with the wisdom from above and how that wisdom should be unwavering.

Those seeking a more peaceful life without constant strain and stress are invited to listen to Pastor Cherryholmes message this Saturday, May 2, or Sunday, May 3.

Weekly Services

Sunday services are held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. and are traditional with hymnal music led by Janet Ray with Sherry Parmenter at the piano. Pat Kogak will sing this week.

Saturday services held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. include contemporary songs of worship, led by Gregory Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment.

Midweek Studies

Melli Herrera leads the Monday Bible Study from 10:3011:30 a.m.

Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible Study from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and the Friday Prayer and Bible Study from 4-5 p.m.

All are welcome to join any service or midweek study.

Scripture of the Week

“Therefore, let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” Hebrews 4:16.
