“The bee is more honored than other animals, not because she labors, but because she labors for others,” writes St. John Chrysostom.

A swarm of bees is a natural reproductive process where a honey bee colony splits, with a queen and thousands of worker bees leaving to establish a new home.

Often occurring in spring, this large, buzzing group gathers temporarily (on branches, for example) to find a permanent, suitable location.

If you spot one in Leisure World, stay calm and immediately contact a member of your Mutual Board so they can get in touch with www.beeswarmed. org to find out how to quickly proceed in order to relocate the bees.

Doing this will protect our critical pollinators.

They should definitely not be exterminated. Once they are relocated, the bees will begin to build a hive, building honeycomb, and raising new generations of bees.

Albert Einstein is often quoted as saying “If the bee disappears from the surface of the globe, man would have no more than four years of life to live.”

Apple News recently issued the following warning: “Been targeted by the Apple Pay scam?” Consumer Affairs has warned that if you use an iPhone, you probably will be. The attack, which is becoming widespread, is simple: A text seems to come from Apple “alerting you to an Apple Pay fraud.” The text includes a number to call to stop the transaction. “Experts say the scam relies on urgency, impersonation and convincing personal details.” Apple warns that if you do call, you’ll be speaking to a criminal intent on stealing your money.

In Mutual 3, there’s a bike wizard named Dave. I don’t know his last name, but he resuscitated our old Trek via three tuneups and new tires. His prices are reasonable and he has a speedy turnaround. He is courteous and professional. Thank you, Dave. Call him for your bicycle needs at 714-855-8178 Julie Kim Mutual 2
