All are invited to the eighth annual LWSB Life Options Expo on Friday, June 27, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Clubhouse 4 and Veterans Plaza. This popular annual event brings together nonprofits, service providers and local vendors to showcase a wide range of resources that can help enhance residents’ quality of life.

The event will feature vendors who will offer information and answer questions about assisted living, emergency preparedness, senior transportation, vision and hearing support, end-of-life planning, health insurance, affordable food resources for seniors and much more. Some of the most popular booths at the annual expo are those for caregiving services that can offer part-time or round-the-clock care for individuals as they age.

Expo sponsors Home Instead and Angel Connection Nursing Care, along with providers Home Matters Caregiving, Living Well Home Care, Senior Caregiving Options, Right at Home and Care Partners will be on site to answer questions about their services.

As people age, everyday tasks that once felt effortless can become physically or mentally challenging. For many seniors, maintaining independence is important, but so is safety, comfort and connection. Caregivers can provide not only practical assistance but also emotional support that can dramatically enhance quality of life.

Many seniors don’t need constant care, but rather a helping hand with daily routines like preparing meals, bathing, taking medication, or running errands. Even a part-time caregiver can help reduce the risk of falls, missed medications, or poor nutrition. These small supports can prevent bigger health issues and allow seniors to age in place safely.

For seniors with advanced health conditions such as dementia, mobility impairments, or chronic illnesses, round-the-clock care becomes essential. Live-in caregivers provide continuous monitoring, quick response in emergencies, and personal care throughout the day and night. This level of support ensures safety and reduces the need for frequent hospital visits or premature placement in nursing homes.

Ultimately, a caregiver can offer dignity, respect, and emotional stability in a time of life when those things can become fragile.

People who don’t need immediate help can still plan for the future, and learn more about maintaining their current help through free bone density scans, mobility device test runs, eye evaluations and more.

The event will also feature live music from LW musicians and a raffle with an array of prizes. Food and refreshment options will be available from Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ, Koffel’s food truck and Scooters Italian Ice.
