LW WOMEN'S GOLF CLUB The LW Women’s Golf Club will hold the first annual Ladies & Gents Putting Contest, sponsored by Gasper Monteer Realty, on Tuesday, July 29. There will be five different greens and lengths. Players will meet at 7 a.m. at the course, with an 8 a.m. start time. There will be prize money of $100 as well as other prizes. Refreshments will be served before the contest.

The Cribbage Club meets every Tuesday at noon in Clubhouse 1. Refreshments are served each week from noon-12:15, and anyone who arrives by 12:15 is assured a place to play. Yearly dues are $5, and $1 is collected from each player weekly. Those finishing with the top four scores are awarded prize money the following week. A total of seven games are played and anyone who enjoys playing cribbage is welcome

The Tournament Poker Club met on April 19 on a wonderful sunny day with over 60 players. A great time was had by all. High hand winners were Katie Hamilton (A-A-A-A-8) and Carol Ostergaard (K-K-K-K-J). Ostergaard also won a prize for playing and winning with the promo hand of 10-3. Fifty-four golfers from the Leisure World men’s and women’s golf leagues played in a special shotgun/scramble tournament on April 30 at the par 54 Turtle Lake Golf Course. Nine teams of six players teed off at 8 a.m. with the goal of having the lowest gross score of the day. Considering the above average playing conditions, it was not surprising that each team achieved a well-below-par score.
