The Let the Good Times Roll Club will hold a rock and roll show this Saturday, May 17, at 6 p.m. in Clubhouse 2. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
In tune with Armed Forces Day, club members will perform songs by Kate Smith, Pete Seeger, Don McLean, Aaron Tippin, Lee Greenwood, other patriotic songs and selections with red, white or blue in the title.

Longtime Abilene singer Tina Schaffer will be featured in a farewell performance with the band on Saturday, May 24, in Clubhouse 2 starting at 7 p.m.
After 25 years in the computer business, including 16 years serving the Leisure World community, Schaffer will retire from Abilene and the computer business at the end of May. She is moving Kansas City, Missouri, to begin the next chapter of her

There are two dance classes every Saturday morning in Clubhouse 6, on the second floor. In May the classes are west coast swing at 9 a.m., followed by night club two-step at 10. Each class is $7 per person.
Class participants vote on new dance topics every month. Prior dance experience is not necessary and partners are not required. For more information, contact Howard Small at 516-659-3314.

The South Coast Orchid Society will continue its 75th anniversary year with a hands-on workshop on orchid culture and repotting on Monday, May 19, from 7-9 p.m. at the Whaley Park Community Center, 5620 East Atherton St., Long Beach.
Now that the days are longer and the nights warmer, most orchids are eager to grow—many want to be repotted. Join the meeting to learn how it’s done.
