LW Birthdays
Carolyn Seitz of Mutual 3 cel- ebrated her 80th birthday early on Sept. 13 in a similar fashion as she has lived her life—by helping others. Seitz, born on Sept. 16, gathered friends and family from all over California and Texas in Clubhouse 3 to assemble 500 ham and cheese sandwiches and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the people of Orange County who are experiencing food insecu rity.
Residents help keep Seal Beach clean
Jeri and Ted Nowel from Mutual 5 have joined Joe Lazzari, Seal Beach resident, and the team leader for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for years as a faithful 'Trash Crew' that clears Pacific Coast Highway. The trio, along with several additional volunteers, spend the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month gathering and bagging trash in the area of the Naval Weapons Base property and
Salvation Army will take gently used items Oct. 11
Salvation Army trucks will be in the Amphitheater parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
The Salvation Army donation event in August was a huge success as shareholders donated enough unwanted belongings to fill three trucks.
The Salvation Army donation project is under the stewardship of the Golden Age Foundation (GAF). It occurs every other month.
