West Nile virus detected in LW mosquito sample


VECTOR CONTROL The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District (OC Vector) has confirmed mosquito samples infected with West Nile virus in Seal Beach. Mosquitoes tested on Oct. 2 at two testing sites, one in Leisure World and one at the Naval Weapons Station, came back positive for West Nile virus. Inspectors will be out in the area to check known sources of mosquito breeding

The GRF Emergency Preparedness Expo will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby and Veterans Plaza. This free event for residents combines resources, demonstrations and exhibits designed to help everyone stay prepared in the event of an emergency. A special highlight this year will be the opening of a time capsule sealed in the year 2000 by the Leisure World
