The American Latino Club will meet for lunch on April 14 in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 11:30 a.m. For $8, each person will receive one submarine sandwich with a choice of pepperoni, turkey, corned beef or salami on wheat or white bread, plus Doritos or potato chips with a white macadamia nut or chocolate chip cookie. Hands and Hearts United in Giving (HHUG) is a small, local nonprofit dedicated to helping the homeless in the community. HHUG accepts donations of clean used towels and new, unopened travel-size shampoo, soap, lotion and disposable razors. The only clothing accepted is new socks and new underwear for men and women. Mutual 12 will hold a luncheon on April 29 in Clubhouse 4 starting at noon. The luncheon will feature a country-western-style box lunch. Tickets may be purchased from residents’ building captains starting April 4 for $8 per resident and $16 per guest/ caregiver. After more than two years, the Impaired Vision and Hearing Club will resume its monthly meetings on Tuesday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Starting April 22, the Leisure World Bridge Club will offer free bridge lessons in Clubhouse 1. These lessons, led by accomplished bridge teachers Rob Preece and Larry Slutsky, are designed for new and intermediate players who want to update their game.
