Five very brave, and subsequently very wet, men of the Leisure World Men’s Golf League were met with a rainy and misty morning at Meadowlark Golf Course in Huntington Beach on Feb. 7. Early morning downpours resulted in the course having numerous muddy and wet areas. With just five golfers playing, a skins match was declared. Forty-one women made it to the Leisure World golf course for the weekly tournament on Feb. 11. Play for the day was low gross, low net and birdies. A flight winners: Sophia Kim, 24, low gross; Grace Choi and Veronica Chang, 24, low net; birdies: Sophia Kim, 2, 3, 5 and 6; Grace Choi, 8; Veronica Sandy Kim, Hae Lee and Veronica Chang all played in the same group and got birdies on No. 8.

LW Community Church will present “Timeless Duets” featuring resident pianist Hanni Yi and violinist SoJin Kim on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 6 p.m., featuring duets by César Franck and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
