Bus ridership up 40% under on-call system

Thirteen months after the Golden Rain Foundation did away with its fixed-route bus system and transitioned to an on-call, point-to-point system, the results are exceeding expectations. Ridership has increased 40% in the first year. On average, LW’s buses gave 998 more rides per month in 2025 compared to 2024, and that growth shows
Over 70% of residents pay assessments with auto-pay
PAYMENTS
There are many ways for shareholders to make their assessment payments: 1. ACH (Auto pay): Shareholders can set up an ACH transfer with their banking institution. This allows the GRF to automatically withdraw your monthly assessment directly from your checking account on or around the fifth of every month.
2. Drop Box: Shareholders can drop their check in the 24hour drop box
New ceramics kiln purchased with GAF grant
GRANTS
In October 2025, the Golden Age Foundation (GAF) awarded the Leisure World Claytime Ceramics and Clay Crafters Clubs $1,750 from the Peter Hayes Grant program, established to support clubs and organizations that improve the lives of Leisure World residents.
The grant was used to purchase an L& L Plug-n-Fire Kiln which enhances ceramic projects with luster and decal applications

Free Smoke Alarm Installations
Any Mutual or LW resident can request a free smoke alarm installation from the Red Cross as part of its “Sound the Alarm” campaign, which also provides free home fire safety education.
Home fires remain the nation’s most frequent disaster, and having working smoke alarms dramatically increases peoples’ chance of safely escaping, according to the Red Cross.
