The Table Tennis Club’s first membership drive was a success with close to 200 members renewing or joining the club during January.

The LW Pool Club held its monthly tournament on Jan. 24. Eight ball with 12 two-person teams was played in a double elimination format. This is very different from a regular seven round tournament. In professional tournaments, double elimination formats are often used to eliminate players who have no chance of finishing in the money. In the last two meetings of January, there were 21 scores above 300 and ten bingos (i.e. the use of all seven tiles in one move).
Suthy Edgar led with five bingos and four scores higher than 300. The range of her scores was from 326 to 394.
