EMERGENCY INFORMATION COUNCIL
The Emergency Information Council (EIC) will meet today, March 12, at 1 p.m., in Building 5, Conference Room B. The council will discuss upcoming activities and speakers, the results of the latest vital document scanning event and the on site first aid and CPR training classes. The group will discuss other ways to help the community prepare for emergency disasters.

Dr. Armin Arshi from UCI Health in Los Alamitos will speak on orthopedic joint replacements at the Sunshine Club’s meeting on Friday, March 13, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m.
Arshi will explain the anatomy of the knee and hip, types of damage, and surgical and non-surgical repair options. Arshi did his surgical residency at UCLA Medical Center and his fellowship at the Rothman Orthopaedic

The Rainbow Community, along with the LGBTQ+ Center Long Beach Older Adult Program, will sponsor a St. Patrick’s Day barbecue potluck on Tuesday, March 17, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. It will be an afternoon of food, music and fun. Burgers and hot dogs will be provided, along with soda, water and lemonade. Attendees should bring a side dish for six. Don’t forget to wear green. RSVPs

Over 300 federal and California state tax returns have been e-filed for Leisure World residents so far this year with the help of the Golden Age Foundation (GAF) and AARP.
The GAF has added two additional days on Thursdays, March 26, and April 9 for appointments.
IRS-certified volunteers will prepare and e-file tax returns for full-year California residents.
