Community Church
On Sunday, May 10, Community Church will read two passages of Scripture: 1 Peter 3:13-22 and John 14:15-21. The church will also celebrate Mother’s Day. Many young people have moved away from church, saying “I still believe in God, I am still spiritual but I can’t believe in an all-powerful God who is causing all of this to happen.”
Many of LW residents grew up in the ‘60s amidst the countercultural revolution. There is still some value in the countercultural movement as it sought to move people from nice to kind. Many people all still working on this.
This week’s theme is light. Jesus said “I am the light of the world” and he promised his followers that they would walk in the light of life. Lighting a candle can be a powerful reminder that not only is Jesus the light of the world, but his followers are also meant to bear the light of God’s love.
As a reminder, the word Gospel means good news. Those looking for a message of encouragement are welcome to join Community Church for a time of worship on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Community Church is located inside Leisure World near St. Andrews Gate at 14000 Church Place. No prior church experience is required. All are welcome who are welcoming to all.
