LW Korean Community Church (LWKCC) celebrated Family Day on May 3 with a message from senior pastor Rev. Yong Jang-yong, centered on Ephesians 2:18–19, proclaiming the true meaning of family: “For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father... So then, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.”

He emphasized that living as members of God’s household signifies a holy family bond formed not through worldly bloodlines or circumstances, but solely through God’s grace.

The order God established for the family involves growing up under the protection and love of parents during childhood, learning to rely on the help of friends and neighbors as we mature, and once fully grown, moving toward a life of honoring and serving parents.

A home becomes truly peaceful when it is filled with a gentleness that chooses not to dwell on everything it hears, refrains from exposing everything it knows, and embraces and covers over faults even when they are seen.

Through Jesus Christ—who died on the cross as a substitute for all people—God has made us fellow citizens and granted us the authority to be his children.

The pastor proclaimed that a life lived without encountering the Lord—one mired in arrogance, indifference, greed, and strife—ultimately leads to loneliness; conversely, he declared that those who encounter Jesus find their hearts softened and their lives transformed.

Just as stated in John 1:12, “to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” this promise continues to be fulfilled for believers today.

LWKCC holds a worship service on Sundays at 11:30 a.m. at 14000 Church Place next to St. Andrews Gate. Early morning prayer is Tuesday-Saturday at 6 a.m. For more information, call 714-323-0897 or email yongjang10@gmail.com.
