First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

This week, Pastor Chris “Shorty” Cherryholmes will share from the book of James. In chapter three, the author, James, devoted 10 verses to the topic of the unbridled tongue: “With it we bless our Lord and Father and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God.”

These verses address the damage that can be done with the tongue, “a small part of the body, yet it boasts of great things.”

Pastor Cherryhomes will cover these verses in his humorous and practical way, which makes the message memorable and relative to all.

Weekly Services

Sunday services are held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. and are traditional with hymnal music led by Janet Ray with Sherry Parmenter at the piano. Sandy Calson will sing the special music this week.

Saturday services are held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. include contemporary songs of worship, led by Gregory Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment.

Midweek Studies

Melli Herrera leads the Monday Bible Study from 10:3011:30 a.m.

Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible Study from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and the Friday Prayer and Bible Study from 4-5 p.m.

All are welcome to join any service or midweek study.

Scripture of the Week

“Therefore, He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them,” Hebrews 7:25.
