GRANTS

In October 2025, the Golden Age Foundation (GAF) awarded the Leisure World Claytime Ceramics and Clay Crafters Clubs $1,750 from the Peter Hayes Grant program, established to support clubs and organizations that improve the lives of Leisure World residents.

The grant was used to purchase an L& L Plug-n-Fire Kiln which enhances ceramic projects with luster and decal applications and enables club members to test and develop their own ceramic glazes.

Ramayana Baba, president of the Clay Crafters Club, accepted the donation from GAF President Anna Derby on behalf both clubs and the kiln was soon thereafter purchased and installed in the Ceramics Room of Clubhouse 4.

With the kiln now in place, Leisure World residents are encouraged to visit any of the club’s meetings or ceramics classes, held Monday through Friday, to try it out.

In addition to Leisure World clubs, ceramics classes are also offered through North Orange Continuing Education ( noce. edu) and taught each semester in Clubhouse 4.
