First Christian Church
First Christian Church invites all residents to join the service as the church focuses on the teachings of God, straight out of the Holy Bible. First Christian is a friendly church that welcomes all.
Pastor’s Message
The Apostle Paul wrote an astonishing statement in Romans 10:12-13, “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on him; for ‘Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” Here in lies the problem for Israel, they have rejected the gospel message of Christ crucifi ed, thus remaining in a state of unbelief. In Romans 10:1617 Paul quotes to the Prophet Isaiah, “Lord, who believed our report? So, then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” So, one cannot believe unless he hears the word of God.
Was this the problem that Israel had? Did they not hear the word of God? Paul explains in Romans 10:18-21 that Israel had heard the good news as he looks back to Old Testament scripture and shares the words of the prophets.
Weekly Services
Sunday services at First Christian Church are from 9:3010:45 a.m. and are traditional with hymnal music led by Janet Ray with Sherry Parmenter at the piano. Parmenter will bring the special music this week.
Saturday services from 9:3010:45 a.m. include contemporary songs of worship, led by Gregory Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment.
Midweek Studies
Melli Herrera leads the Monday Bible Study from 10:3011:30 a.m.
Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible Study from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and the Friday Prayer and Bible Study from 4-5 p.m.
All Leisure World residents are welcome to attend the above services and Bible studies.
