Fall shuffleboard season begins Sept. 23 with Tuesday evening league

Many current and new members are already practicing for the Shuffleboard Club’s fall season, which begins with the Tuesday evening league on Sept. 23. The Thursday afternoon league begins Sept. 24, followed by the Friday morning league on Sept. 25.

This year there are more teams playing than ever before, with five on Tuesday, and four teams each on Thursdays and Fridays. Schedules have been posted on TeamReach and at the Courts Building. Captains will be contacting team members who were not at the general meeting.

Many players are already taking advantage of open play on Monday mornings at 9 a.m. to practice. There are also training/practice sessions taught by veteran players Rod Osgood and Sue Burkschab at 9 a.m. Thursday mornings.

Shuffleboard groups are very welcoming to new players. They are a very social group as well, and have many parties throughout the year where members from all the leagues can meet and celebrate various holidays.
