American Latino Club

The American Latino Club will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 3, in Clubhouse 2, from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

The country of the month will be Peru. Entertainment will be provided by Peru Baila, Peruvian folklore dancers, who will perform three regional dances: Valicha, Huayno from Cuzco; Marinera Norteña, a Mestizo dance from Trujillo and the Alcatraz y Festejo, an Afro Peruvian dance. There will also be a voluntary holiday wrapped gift exchange ($15 minimum).

The lunch choices from Aji Verde Restaurant include: Aji de gallina (shredded chicken in creamy sauce, with potatoes and rice); Chaufa de mariscos (seafood fried rice mixed with green onions and scrambled eggs); Lomo saltado (sautéed beef with onions and tomatoes, served with white rice). All meals come with Aguadito (chicken soup in a cilantro base).

The cost for lunch is $17 for members and $19 for guests.

Submit payment and meal choice to Treasurer Rachel Fullum by dropping off payment in her mailbox at 1371 Oakmont Rd., 150-L, or call 310-8697730. Payment by check made payable to the American Latino Club should be received no later than 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30.

For members and guests who provide their own lunch, the cost is $5 which includes a beverage. Members should notify Fullum if they are bringing their own lunch. The cost to attend meeting for the Peruvian folklore dancers performance at 2 p.m. is $5 per person.

The club will begin collecting annual membership dues of $10 at the Jan. 8 gathering.
