Community Karaoke
“Everybody Loves Somebody” sung by Walter Bier opened the Aug. 6 karaoke party. That is the atmosphere each Wednesday evening in Clubhouse 1 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. when folks gather to encourage their friends to sing.
Dotti Herdman chose the popular “Desperado.” Singing duets was so much fun for many karaoke singers.
Karen Morris strives to finetune a new song each week. David Noble gave a catchy “Harvest Moon.” Chuck Oehl has a mellow voice that the audience enjoys. Julie Nulad chose a different version of “For the Good Times.” Ellen Brannigan sang one of her favorite happy jingles. Bob Barnum sang a new addition to the club’s songbook by “The Killers.”
Pat Paternoster and Mariza Joaquin served refreshing ice cream bars and cupcakes to the audience as 38 happy singers took the mic.
The Monday afternoon karaoke sessions in Clubhouse 6 from 1-3 p.m. are helpful to rehearse a few new tunes. All are welcome.
