Joint meeting of Seniors for Peace and Democratic Club on Aug. 7

Seniors For Peace and the Democratic Club will jointly host a meeting on Thursday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. The featured speaker will be Chris Kluwe, the Democratic candidate running for California Assembly District 72 against two Republican candidates so far in the California primary in June. He will share why he is running and what he stands for.

Kluwe grew up in Southern California, where he attended Los Alamitos High School and then UCLA on a full athletic scholarship. He is the author of several published books, the lead designer of a tabletop card game and has played in a rock band. He may look very familiar to football fans as the holder of almost all of the Minnesota Vikings’ punting records, which he set during his eight-year career in the NFL. He is also a vocal champion for LGBTQIA+ rights and has participated in peaceful civil disobedience, most recently protesting the placement of the MAGA plaque in the Huntington Beach Library.

All are welcome to attend. Call Pat Kruger at 562-357-4040 for more information.
