Gong Club Show: May 30
The Gong Club game show will be held Friday, May 30, in Clubhouse 2. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; show starts at 7. LW residents and their guests are welcome.
Special accommodations can be made for volunteer set-up helpers and guests who want to attend happy hour starting at 5:30.
The main show will be interactive game playing and comedic witticisms. Guests can present puns, jokes, one-liners, or participate in games and contests. If finding humorous material is a challenge, people are encouraged to search Facebook groups and request to join “Leisure World Seal Beach—an entertainment platform hosted by Lu DeSantis.” New members must answer four questions to be eligible to join the private group.
Once a request to join is approved, people can scroll through hundreds of examples. People must keep their joke selections to good clean fun. No politics, religion or offensive language is allowed. There will be many opportunities for audience participation like a “Men’s Den” three-man group to share dad jokes, a dead chicken toss, a chicken/banana dance contest and more.
Donations will help fundraise for future entertainment in the Crimson Lounge. Gong Club shows are held in Clubhouse 2 on the last Friday each month through September. Volunteer helpers are needed at every show. To sign up, call or text Lu DeSantis at 310-686-4763.
