Those who would like to play a fun and friendly game of Texas Hold ‘Em with the Tournament Poker Club for a $5 buy-in should make plans to play on May 3 in Clubhouse 6. Regular tournaments are on the first three Saturdays of every month and start with coffee/treats and registration at 10 a.m. Cards are in the air at 10:30. There is no late seating.

The club appreciates that it continues to grow and looks forward to seeing those who haven’t played in a while.

On April 12 there were more than 60 participants ready to play an exciting game of Texas Hold ‘Em. High hand winners were: Erika Greenwood with 4-4-4-A and Nita Doyan with AA- A-9-9. Brent Covington won a prize for playing and winning with the promo hand of 2-7.

As the winners of their original table, the final table players were: Erika Greenwood, first place; Brent Covington, second; Cleo Looney, third; Tom Pappas, fourth; Lonnie Ton, fifth; K.C. Lee, sixth; Cornel Sneekes, seventh. Play continued at the final table until Greenwood (Q-2) and Covington (9-10) were head’s up. The flop came Q-7-9 and Covington went all in. The turn was also a Q, giving Greenwood three of a kind, the 7 on the river was no help to Covington, giving Greenwood the win with a full house (QQ- Q-7-7).

Greenwood has lived in Leisure World for 31 years and has been a member of the poker club since she arrived. This was her fourth final table and win. Besides the Poker Club, Greenwood is a member of the Doo Wop Club and plays Mexican Train here in Leisure World. She also likes bowling and fishing.

The club congratulates all the winners.
