Battery recycling will be held July 15
The Golden Age Foundation’s (GAF) quarterly battery recycling program will return on Tuesday, July 15, from 10 a.m.noon in the parking lot of Clubhouse 2. GRF ID is required.
The GAF will collect the following approved batteries for recycling: alkaline, carbon zinc, nickel cadmium, nickel metal-hydride, lithium ion, lithium metal, silver oxide, button cell batteries and all other dry cell batteries. This includes all household batteries, cell phone and laptop batteries, plus small buttontype batteries.
The GAF asks residents to place each lithium battery in a separate bag as part of the recycle requirements. It is important to recycle batteries instead of throwing them away to keep waste fees low and keep the planet clean.
This service is for Leisure World residents only, no business batteries allowed.
