LW ART LEAGUE

The Leisure World Art League invites all Leisure World artists to participate in “Art in Bloom,” a juried art exhibition that will be held Sunday, June 22, from noon-4 p.m. at Veterans Plaza behind Clubhouse 3. Entrants need not be members of the Art League to participate. The event will feature works created by Leisure World residents in ceramics, digital art, drawing, fabric art, lapidary, multi-media, painting, photography and sculpture.

To participate, artists can pick up an application at the Recreation Department offices in Building 5. The completed application should be submitted via email with digital images attachments of no more than three art pieces to ramayanababa@msn.com by May 8. Accepted applicants will be notified May 22 with additional details about the exhibition. Each participant will be provided with a designated display space with covered tables, pedestals for 3D artwork and designated space for the hanging of framed pieces. Exhibiting artists will be permitted to sell their original art pieces during the show.

Also featured at the exhibition will be works by student artists from the Los Alamitos School District, as well as the winner of the Art League logo design contest created by a student artist. Proceeds from the event will be donated to benefit the Los Alamitos School District’s art programs and to provide art student scholarship awards.
