Community Church will offer glitter on Ash Wednesday

In the life of the church, this Sunday, March 2, is Transfiguration Sunday. Transfiguration is another way of describing someone who has changed. In the Gospels, Jesus is transfigured when his clothes become dazzling white. Community Church will look at this account of Jesus with his closest disciples on the mountain top and what it means for believers to shine as well.

March 5 is Ash Wednesday, Community Church will celebrate Ash Wednesday and the Season of Lent with a series titled “Re:Thinking Lent—40 Days of Kindness.” All are welcome to come to Community Church, 14000 Church Place, to receive biodegradable glitter instead of ashes. There are enough reminders of mortality these days, and people might do better when they are reminded that they have the love of God and the light of love within and are here to shine. People can receive glitter and a calendar of activities for 40 Days of Kindness from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. by walking up or the drive through service. The church meets on Sundays at 9:50 a.m. Coffee with the Pastor is Thursdays at 10 a.m.
