Putting contest coming July 29

LW WOMEN'S GOLF CLUB

The LW Women’s Golf Club will hold the first annual Ladies & Gents Putting Contest, sponsored by Gasper Monteer Realty, on Tuesday, July 29. There will be five different greens and lengths. Players will meet at 7 a.m. at the course, with an 8 a.m. start time. There will be prize money of $100 as well as other prizes. Refreshments will be served before the contest. Players can sign up to participate on May 20 and 21 at 7:30 a.m. at the golf starter shack. Cost is $10 per golfer with a 60 player maximum. Players must be a member of the men’s or women’s golf clubs.

Thirty-nine women participated in the April fifth week tournament called “every game all at once.” Birdies, chip-ins, putts and two circle holes counted. It was topped off by Sue Yokomi getting her first hole-in-one on No. 6.
